Friday November 13 Friday Note

If your child is coming in late or going to miss school, please call ANY TIME before 8:00 am, or send an email to rvogel@benton.k12.ia.us   This saves a lot of time tracking kids down to make sure they are safe at home if they are not at school!  The answering machine is turned on when we are not in the office for you to leave a message.  Please leave your student’s name, homeroom, reason for absence and your name.

Monday = Day 2 - 1:00 Dismiss
Tuesday = Day 3
Wednesday-Friday=No School

Monday, Nov. 27 = Day 4
Tuesday, Nov 28 = Day 5

Parent/Teacher Conferences are Monday, Nov. 20th from 1:30-7:30.  Please call the office if you have not scheduled a conference time.

Check the School’s Lost and Found if you are missing items from your child’s wardrobe.

Please call the office to update any information that may have changed since registration.
Candle Pick-Up If you have not picked up your candles, please pick them up during conferences on Monday.

Students go outside for recess if the temperature is 10 degrees or above.  Please make sure your child has the appropriate attire to go outside.  If you need assistance with winter items, please contact the school.

The Scholastic Book fair is open during conferences!  Please check out the items for sale in the STEAM room. 

The BCPTO has placed a giving tree by the lunchroom. If you would like to donate an item to your child’s classroom, just pick an apple off the giving tree!

Atkins Multi-Vender Holiday Open House is Saturday, November 18th from  9am-3pm at the Atkins Park Pavilion. There also bazaars that day at the Atkins Elementary School and the American Legion Hall.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
     It is that time of year when cold and flu viruses start to spread.  Help us keep our students healthy and stop the spread of illness.  Please keep your child home from school when they are sick and teach them good hygiene practices (ex. hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or arm).
     Students are not allowed to return to school unless they have been fever free for at least 24hours without the use of medication.  In the case where the illness is treated with antibiotics, the student must be on the antibiotic for 24 hours before returning to school.

     Thank you for helping to keep our students healthy!

Friday, October 27  is a  1:00  dismiss for professional learning.   Wednesday, November 1  is a   NOON  dismiss.    The schedule for next week: Monday  = Day 6 Tuesday  = Day 1 Wednesday  = Day 2 Thursday = Day 3 Friday = Day 4 We will have dress up days  for Red Ribbon Week, each day has a theme.
