Norway Friday Note for Oct. 6th

Our Healthy Kids walk has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 11th at 2:15 pm.

The schedule for next week:
Monday = No School
Tuesday = Day 3
Wednesday = Day 4
Thursday= Day 5
Friday = Day 6

5th Grade group band rehearsals will begin Friday, October 13th.  All 5th grade band members will need to have their instruments at school that day, and every day 2, 4, & 6 after that.

Picture Retakes is Friday, October 13. If you would like retakes you will need to return your original package.  Any students who were absent on September 7th will also have their picture taken.

No school and early dismiss days are the perfect time to make appointments so your child does not miss out on important academic time.  If you need a school calendar please send an email torvogel@benton.k12.ia.us and one will be sent home.

We love to have parents come visit for lunch; however, we have a couple requests: Please call the school by 8:30 am and bring the correct change to pay for lunch.  An adult lunch is $3.60.

Wednesday, October 11th we will have a PINK day to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.  We are asking students to wear pink and donate $1.00.  We will donate the money raised.

Hy-Vee Receipts
If you shop at Cedar Rapids and Marion Hy-Vee stores, please turn in Hy-Vee receipts in the lunch room. We will be using money raised for equipment in the STEAM Room.
Blairstown Library will present Monday, October 9th at 2pm, the "A Loose Tooth" with Miss Erin from the C R Museum of Art. Is Miss Watson actually a three-hundred-year old alien who steals baby teeth from her students? Our silly story will solve the mystery. Afterward, we'll use toothbrushes to make some very cool art!
Candle Barn Fundraiser - The Norway Student Council will kick off candle sales October 13-27. Information will go home next week.
Are you interested in joining 4H?  There is an informational meeting Monday, October 16th at 7:00 pm at the Atkins Park Pavilion.  Ages 8-18 are welcome with their parents.

We have a collection of gently used winter items.  If you cannot afford to purchase snow pants, hats, or mittens please send an email to rvogel@benton.k12.ia.us with your child’s  name, pants size and what your child needs. We will do our best to fill those needs.

Friday Oct. 20th Friday Note

Friday, October 27  is a  1:00  dismiss for professional learning.   Wednesday, November 1  is a   NOON  dismiss.    The schedule for next week: Monday  = Day 6 Tuesday  = Day 1 Wednesday  = Day 2 Thursday = Day 3 Friday = Day 4 We will have dress up days  for Red Ribbon Week, each day has a theme.
